Homestay of Long Beach has several different types of homestay accommodations for you to choose when selecting your American family. They are priced differently, based on the type of housing amenities you desire. All of our homestays offer the convenience of being close to your school along with the opportunity for cultural exchange and lifelong friendships with your American family.
The United States is a diverse nation of people and there are many different types of host families participating in our homestay program. All of them are English-speaking families and they are ready to help you practice English. Many of our host families have their own children living in the home, while some are retired and others have no children at all. We have host families who are single-parent families, with only women or only men living in the household. You’ll find most American families enjoy having pets, usually a dog or cat. We do have some host families without pets, but it is more common in American culture for families to have pets. American families can be different ethnicities and maybe even speak a second or third language. We pre-screen all of our homestay families for your safety before a housing placement is made.
All of our homestays offer a private bedroom, unless you choose to share a room if you are traveling with a friend. Each bedroom is guaranteed to be clean with fresh linens and ready for you upon your arrival. There will be a desk with a lamp to assist in your studies inside your bedroom, but not all families have wireless Internet access. Some of our families live in large luxurious homes, while others live in more modest styled homes, apartments or condominiums. The price varies slightly among the different types of homestay housing.
Homestay of Long Beach Student Housing Fees:
• There is a $275 placement fee due upon placement into your American home.
• We will pick you up from LAX Airport and deliver you safely to your American homestay housing family for $100 one way.
• Homestay Room with Breakfast Only – Modest $600 to Deluxe $750 per month
• Homestay Room with Breakfast & Dinner – Modest $700 to Deluxe $800 per month
All fees are due upon placement and arrival to your American host family. We accept Visa, MasterCard and U.S. Dollars. All credit card transactions will be charged a 3.7% convenience fee.
